[ A certain green-haired boy appears on Vatheon's screens, yet again. This time, he is looking healthier, but almost...huffy?
He takes a breath and speaks calmly: ]
It seems several people were given Eevee eggs to care for. I am glad to see that the little ones are hatching and seem to be doing well.
[ That much, at least, is true. ]
I was wondering how much of an introduction to Pokemon nature and care you were given? While they have many similarities with the animals I have met here, they require some special attention.
[ What he is trying not to come out directly and say is that he has no idea who any of you all are, if you can be trusted, and that he has no faith in Lyra. ]
If anyone has questions, or trouble, I'm willing to teach you about Pokemon. I can also speak directly to your Eevee, and translate any concerns.
[ He also does not say that if he has any concerns, he will be hunting you down personally. ]

And you are offering to teach them. I am sure they are willing to learn.
[He has nothing to say about Ryoji right now. Things are still a liiiiiittle tense there.]
...N-kun, I am curious. What does being a Champion have to do with her levels of responsibility?
no subject
Because being a Champion is not simply a matter of strength. It is not like a gym badge you can trot around and show your friends.
To be a Champion is to be in a position of power, and respect. To be able to bend the ear of the entire region. It is to be a leader, and to set an example for everyone. That is why Ghetsis wanted me to defeat Alder in the first place. To win that respect.
It's not just about skill in battle. Having strong Pokemon does not mean you will win. Champions do not change easily. It is much more complicated than that.
People are supposed to be able to look up to her. To trust her. She is supposed to be a leader, a good example. And instead she is brat who has now endangered an entire clutch of Eevee because she didn't bother to take the time to teach their new trainers how to take care of them at all.

...You defeated the Champion, didn't you, N-kun?
[He is getting the idea that this is a Very Big Deal.
But as for Lyra...he has nothing to say. N has said his piece on her; he's not going to defend someone he doesn't know like this, not when it's clear that it was a little irresponsible.
He just wishes that N had a little more faith in people.]
no subject
[ That derails his entire rant. ]
...yes.
no subject
[And he does. That...that's something else, isn't it? This isn't a game. It might be in his world, but it certainly isn't for real--any place that has real people living within it is never a game.
But then...what had N accomplished? What had he managed?
He'd managed a lot, and he never even mentioned it, not really. He'd mentioned everything that he felt he deserved punishment for, but never the amazing, the incredible; never the pure talent and ability that shone through--or the pure determination such as when he had a cause like this.
There was a different edge to this N. A different sense he gave off, and Minato could see how N, as an enemy, could be dangerous. Because for someone who believed fully in something...well, anything was possible, wasn't it? He should know, of all people.
His expression is thoughtful, as he considers this. It's a silence of a few moments, as he tries to think of the words he'd like to say. There are some things that are more important to him, and while the current Eevee issue is, well, an "issue", N has it in hand perfectly well, as is clear.
No, he has something else he'd like to address.]
...That's impressive.
[It's a quiet statement, but he is truly impressed and it's there in his tone. Because...hearing N talk of what a Champion is made him realize just how much, perhaps, he had done himself.]
It's good that you're helping to teach them...but you can't watch all of them all the time.
[It's just an observation--his expression is questioning. 'So what will you do?']
no subject
[ It makes him feel helpless. Even as Minato realizes how big he was, he feels oh so small. Fragile. Limited.
He looks away from the screen, at his own hands. ]
[ ... ]
But I am here now. So I will watch while I am awake, and change what I can.
no subject
I see.
[A slow nod; if that's N's plan, that's N's plan. Though he does comment mildly--]
That is a lot of responsibility on your shoulders.
no subject
...what else would I do?
[ To N, other options are simply unthinkable. He cannot stand aside. It is not a matter of selflessness, but of need. ]
no subject
You don't have to do it all by yourself. I am sure there are people who can help you with this.
Don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it, alright? I can tell that you're set on this--and it's good that you're helping both the people and their new Pokemon.
no subject
It's not hard.
[ He shakes his head a bit. ]
It's just telling people what they need to know, is all.
no subject
That's right.
[And straightfaced.]
Try not to intimidate them too badly, N-kun.
no subject
[ Blink. ]
[ ... ]
Am I intimidating?
no subject
The expression on your face before was a little intimidating. Just keep in mind that the people you'll be helping will likely want your help as much as you want to help them.
no subject
[ Luckily the derp is not that hard to coax out. ]
I will. They seem receptive so far.
no subject
Of course. Best of luck, then, N-kun. You've got the situation under control.
[...so he doesn't really have much more he needs to worry about here.]
no subject
asdfjs!!
Smile!!! ]
Thank you.
